HyperTune privacy policy

HyperTune is a native macOS system monitoring and performance workbench with a window and menu-bar display. Its configurable Overview shows CPU activity, memory, load average and kernel values. File Sharing, Content Caching, tuning controls and the log view include previews that do not yet act on the system.

HyperTune is distributed by east coast science, llc.

Hardware readings and preferences

HyperTune samples CPU, memory and kernel statistics on your Mac and holds chart history in memory. Preferences are saved using macOS UserDefaults. No analytics or advertising tracking integration was found in the reviewed application source.

Network permission and DNS settings

HyperTune’s App Store configuration permits outgoing network connections. The entitlement comment describes latency and bandwidth checks, but no implementation of those checks was found in the reviewed application source. The reviewed source shows no feature sending data off the Mac.

The Network Configuration screen can request a local change to Wi-Fi DNS resolvers using macOS administrator authorization. It does not upload hardware readings. If a DNS change succeeds, subsequent name lookups by your Mac may go to the resolvers you selected. Operation of this control in the App Store sandbox has not been verified.

An iCloud key-value-store entitlement is present, but no iCloud settings-sync implementation was found in the reviewed app source. This policy describes that source as reviewed on the date below. If you email support, your address and message are shared with the support mailbox.
